UDC Falls to University of the Sciences, 58-54

Philadelphia, PA: January 28, 2010-Adewale Adefemi led the University of Sciences Devils to a, 58-54, win over the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds in men's basketball tonight at Morgan Arena.  Sciences improved their record to 5-11 for the season while UDC fell to 1-16.

Adefemi recorded a double double of 17 points, 11 rebounds, while team mate Omari Phillips joined him in double digits with 16 points and 2 rebounds.

Freshman guard Kenneth James (Arlington, VA) led the UDC scoring tallying a season-high 25 points, grabbing 5 rebounds and dishing out 1 assist.  Junior guard Tim Ellison (Alexandria, VA) added 15 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals.

Sciences shot 44 percent (20 for 45) for the game to UDC's 45 percent (21 for 47) in two-point field goals, 37 percent (7 for 19) from beyond the arc and 100 percent (11 of 11) from the charity stripe. UDC shot 30 percent (3 for 10) from beyond the arc, and 75 percent (9 of 12) from the free-throw line.

UDC took advantage of Sciences turnovers converting them into 19 points to Sciences' 7, and outscored Sciences 26 to 14 in the paint. Sciences converted second chance opportunities into 13 points while UDC converted its chances to 9.

UDC will see action again on February 18, at home in a re-match against University of the Sciences.
