The University of the District of Columbia's Athletic Director Patricia Thomas has announced the hiring of Athletic Trainer, Jaskeerat Ahluwalia.

"I am happy to welcome Jaskeerat Ahluwalia to the UDC Sports Medicine team," said Associate Athletic Ditector for Sports medicine, Brian Goodstein. "Her previous experiences with the Washington Spirit and Old Glory DC Rugby Club will help set her up for success in treating and keeping our Firebird student-athletes healthy."

Ahluwalia has worked as the Head of Athlertic Performance for the Global Squad, where she assessed and treated acute injuries, and led warm-ups, cool downs amongst many other duties. She's worked as a Rehabilitation Technician at Anne Arundel Medical Center where she was responsible for Instructing patients through exercises and maintaining patient records.

 Ahluwalia has also had experience with professional teams such as the Old Glory DC Rugby Football Club and the Washington Spirit. In her time as an intern at Old Glory, she performed preseason physical assessments, administered treatments, applied modalities, instructed athletes through rehabilitation, provided first aid, taped to prepare for performance, evaluated injuries,maintained treatment records, and managed supply orders under supervision of Head Athletic Trainer.

In her time at the Washington Spirit she administered treatments, created emergency action plans for training venues, instructed athletes through rehabilitation, provided first aid, taped to prepare for performance, evaluated injuries, and maintained player hydration under supervision of Head Athletic Trainer. She alos traveled with The Washington Spirit to the National Women's Soccer League Semi Final and Final in order to assist with player rehabilitation and to provide pre match care.

Ahluwalia received her Bachelor's in Health Administration and Public Policy from the University of Maryland Baltimore College, and her Master's of Science in Athletic Training from Shenandoah University. She is currently working on her Doctorate's in Physical Therapy from the George Washington University.
