Ayesha Jarrett, Destiny Ryles and Phillip Brown Jr Earn ECC Weekly Awards; Stone and Dixon Make Weekly Honor Roll

BABYLON, N.Y.- Ayesha Jarrett was named ECC Track Athlete of the week, and Phillip Brown Jr and Destiny Ryles were both named ECC Rookie of the week for their performances last week as was announced by the conference office, Monday afternoon. Kamille Dixon and Kenyon Stone were also named to the weekly honor roll.

Jarrett placed fourth out of a field of 60, in the 60m with a time of 8.10s, which was the second-best Division II time of the meet. She went on to run 41.84s in the 300m which was good for 11th overall out of a field of 65 and the top D2 time of the meet. Jarrett closed out the meet anchoring the 4x400m team for the Firebirds that placed third out of a field of eight other teams.

Brown Jr (forward) had a consistent week, coming off the bench to average 14.5 ppg to help UDC split the week 1-1 and pick up their first conference victory of the season against Queens College. He also averaged 4 rpg.

Ryles (Guard) won her second consecutive Rookie of the week title for her performance last week. She averaged 17 ppg and scored a season-high 25 points in the Firebirds victory over Queens College. She also packed the stat sheet with eight rebounds, seven assists, and eight steals.

Stone and Dixon also had impressive showings last week. Stone averaged 25 ppg, 4.5 rpg, and 2.5 assists per game. Dixon placed third in the 1000m with a time of 3:10.89 which was the best D2 time of the meet. She also ended the meet running the second leg on the 4x400m which placed third overall.
