WORCESTER, MA - The No. 8 seeded University of the District of Columbia men's basketball team used a late rally to make it a one-possession game, but it was too little too late as the Firebirds fell to No. 2 seed Stonehill, 65-61 in the NCAA East Region quarterfinals at Laska Gym on Saturday afternoon.

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia men’s basketball team earned a No. 23 ranking in this week’s NABC Division II poll, and the Firebirds were ranked No. 6 in the latest East Region poll. The women’s basketball team dropped out of the national top-25 but remain in 5th place in the East Region.

In this inaugural season in the East Coast Conference, both the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams have secured the #2 seed in the conference tournament this weekend at Queens College in New York. The semifinals of the tournament will be held this Saturday, March 3rd, and the finals will be held on Sunday, March 4th.
