UDC Women’s Basketball Secures Thrilling 61-58 Victory Over Adelphi

Washington, D.C. - The University of the District of Columbia women's basketball team delivered a clutch fourth-quarter performance to edge out Adelphi University, 61-58, on Saturday afternoon at the E.B Henderson Sports Complex.

In a tightly contested game, both teams were tied at 31 at halftime and remained neck-and-neck through the third quarter. UDC trailed by 3 points entering the final frame but surged ahead with a 19-point fourth quarter to seal the win.

Brenda McKinney led the Firebirds with 14 points and 5 rebounds, shooting an efficient 7-of-10 from the field. Laci Johnson chipped in 13 points, including two three-pointers, while Tania Hill provided a spark off the bench with 9 points and 4 rebounds.

Adelphi's Isabella Ascensio paced the Panthers with 16 points and 4 rebounds, while Christina Sanchez added 15 points and 2 rebounds.
