Miguel Uzcategui Earns East Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – Senior No. 1 singles and doubles player Miguel Uzcategui of the University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team has earned the East Coast Conference Player of the Week award for his performance in the week ending April 6th.

Uzcategui (Electrical Engineering – Valencia, Venezuela/Colegio Sagrado Corazon) has won five straight singles matches including back-to-back top singles wins last Friday at Le Moyne and Saturday at Roberts Wesleyan. He also teamed with senior Ike Kiro for back-to-back doubles wins at the No. 1 flight.

The Firebirds (6-4, 2-1 ECC) will travel to Long Island this week to visit Dowling (April 11th) and NYIT (April 12th).
