Firebirds Show Late Fight but Fall to Georgian Court in Home Opener

Washington, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia men's lacrosse team put up a strong fourth-quarter effort but ultimately fell 17-5 to Georgian Court in their 2025 home opener. Despite early struggles, the Firebirds closed the game with an improved offensive showing, highlighted by Julian Schemm and Dylan Donaldson leading the scoring.

First Quarter: Georgian Court came out aggressively, netting nine goals while UDC managed to get on the board with Donaldson and Maxwell Hansberry each finding the back of the net.

Second Quarter: UDC's offense struggled to break through as Georgian Court extended its lead to 12-2 at halftime.

Third Quarter: Donaldson scored his second goal, but the Firebirds continued to battle against a strong defensive unit from Georgian Court.

Fourth Quarter: UDC fought hard down the stretch, outscoring Georgian Court 2-1 in the final period, with Schemm scoring twice to cap off the game.
