UDC Cross Country team opens up their season at the Adelphi XC Invitational.
Bethpage, N.Y- The University of the District of Columbia women's Cross Country team opened their season, on Friday afternoon at the Adelphi XC Invitational.
Despite unusually chilly weather, senior Cierra Roberts was the top finisher for the Firebirds placing 44thout of a field of 102 runners and running a time of 23:15.20. Freshman teammate Lavondae Douglas was the second finisher for the Firebirds running a rime of 28:33.20.
Other finishers for the Firebirds included freshman Kendra Williams with a time of 33:52.30, Shaneika Bowra (34:51.10), Shanise Rose (34:58.60), Shakiethia Nicholson (35:01.70) and freshman Christine Taylor with a time of 35:04.20.
The team of sprinters placed 13thout of 14 schools with an overall time of 2:35:30.20 and a score of 339.
The Firebirds are back in action on Friday September 13that Hood College for the Twilight Invitational.
