UDC Women’s Cross Country Opens 2018 Season at Adelphi Panthers XC Invitational

BETHPAGE, NY – The University of the District of Columbia Women's Cross Country team opened its 2018 season Friday afternoon at the Adelphi Panthers XC Invitational run at Bethpage State Park Polo Field.

The Firebirds finished 16th out of 18 teams with an overall team time of 3:14:33.40 and team score of 443.

UDC was paced by junior Cierra Roberts, who placed 54th out of 147 runners overall with a time of 23:10.30. She was followed just over four minutes later by junior Shannell Hibbert at 27:12.20. A third top-100 Firebird finisher was sophomore Aisha Dozier, who finished in 28:49.10.

Also crossing the finish line for UDC were: Temera Duncan (29:17.10), Shaneika Bowra (29:48.10), Kenlyn Duncan (31:23.00), Shanise Rose (31:24.30), Shakeithia Nicholson (31:45.30), Patricia McLean (35:20.50), Nyla Houston (35:23.90) and Bosson-Sora Ahouti (39:35.50).

Next up, the Firebirds will compete at the Delaware State Hornet Invitational on Sept. 8 in Smyrna, DE.
