Shaneika Bowra earns Track Athlete of the week.

Washington, DC- Senior and Captain Shaneika Bowra earned this week's ECC Track Athlete of the week for her performance this past weekend at the Eastern Shore Challenge, in Salisbury MD.

Bowra won the 100m, 200m and ran fourth leg on the 4x100m relay team that placed second. She won the 100m with a personal best time of 12.30s and won the 200m in a season best time of 25.56s. Bowra, along with her teammates Shannell Hibbert, Shanise Rose and Cierra Roberts ran a time of 47.51s to place second and currently have the fastest time in the East Region (47.23s), which they ran a week before at the Mary Washington Battleground relays.

Bowra and the Firebirds are gearing up to head to N.Y. on Saturday April 20 to compete in the ECC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
