Shannell Hibbert Earns East Coast Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

WEST BABYLON, NY – The University of the District of Columbia's Shannell Hibbert was named East Coast Conference Track Athlete of the Week for her performance in the Ursinus College Invitational meet this past Saturday. 

Hibbert a sophomore from Kingston, Jamaica, had a superb meet winning three of the four events she competed in. She went on to finish 2nd in the 100m with a season's best 12.51s, and then went on to take 1st in the 200m in a time of 26.38s to make that another season's best performance. 

The Jamaican native was not done as she took 1st place in the 100m hurdles in 15.27s for a season's best and then to round her day off she took another victory in the 4x100m relay alongside her teammates Stacy-Ann Rowe, Cierra Roberts, and Shaneika Bowra for an impressive time of 49.60s. 

Hibbert and her teammates will be looking for more success when they travel to the Mary Washington Battleground Relays, Friday, April 6th.
