University of the District of Columbia Women’s Indoor Track & Field Boasts Six East Coast Conference Winners and 11 awards

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – The University of the District of Columbia Women's Indoor Track & field team had six student-athletes earn All-East Coast Conference distinction based on their performance at the ECC Championship meet. The top two finishers in each event were named First Team All-Conference, while the third and fourth place finishers earned Second Team All-Conference honors.

Freshman Shannell Hibbert led the Firebirds with two First Team honors in the 60M Hurdles and 4x400M. She also secured Second Team All-Conference in the 60M Dash.  Her compatriot, Temera Duncan, earned a First Team selection in the 4x400M while securing Second Team in the 400M Dash.

Senior Brittany Okon obtained a First Team selection in the Long Jump, and junior, Stacy –Ann Rowe clinched Second Team in the 60M Hurdles.

Niasia Harding and Deasia Greer were key cogs in the Firebirds' success during the indoor season, and both freshmen's productivities led to First Team honors in the 4x400M. Harding's impressive display earned her a First Team selection in the 400M while Greer got a Second Team nod in the Triple Jump.
