Firebirds Indoor Track & Field Ranked No. 9 in East Region; Three Firebirds Earn Individual Event Rankings

NEW ORLEANS – The University of the District of Columbia Women's Indoor Track  Field team is ranked No. 9 in the USTFCCA Week 2 National Team Computer Rankings, and a host of individual Firebirds are ranked in their respective events.

 

The Week 2 rankings from the USTFCCCA had three individual Firebirds ranked in their respective event, including: freshman Saida Burns-Moore – 1st in the High Jump (1.65M) and 2nd in the Triple Jump (11.24M); senior Simone Grant – 1st in the Long Jump (5.51M) and 8th in the 200M (25.56s); and graduate Jerily Benjamin – 8th in the 400M (58.48s).

 

The Firebirds have competed in four meets this season, including most recently at the Terrapin Invitational hosted by the University of Maryland on Saturday, January 30th. They have two more meets in preparation for the East Coast Conference Championship meet on February 26th, including this Saturday's Vince Brown Invitational hosted by Christopher Newport University.
