Saida Burns-Moore Earns 2nd East Coast Conference Field Athlete of the Week

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – Freshman Saida Burns-Moore was named East Coast Conference Indoor Field Athlete of the week for her performance in the week ending January 10^th.

This marks the 2^nd weekly honor for Burns-Moore, who has competed in only two meets thus far for the Firebirds. The Bronx, NY native had another terrific day in the High Jump event where she competed in a large field of 31 competitors at the Father Diamond Invitational at George Mason University.

Burns-Moore was 3^rd overall (tops in Division II at the meet) with a clearance of 1.65M – her collegiate best. This mark is also an NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark and currently places her tied for 17^th best in Division II.

In other news, senior Simone Grant was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll. Grant was one of the top competitors at the Father Diamond Invitational in the 200M event. In a large field of 54 competitors, her time of 25.56s placed her 2^nd in her heat and 8^th overall. That time is also currently 20^th fastest in Division II.

The UDC Women's Indoor Track & Field team will return to action on Friday, January 15^th at the Division II Spartan Invitational hosted by St. Thomas Aquinas.
