Women’s 4x400 Meter Relay Team Earns Indoor All-American Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Four Firebirds earned All-American Honors by finishing among the top eight teams in the 4x400 Meter event at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.  The USTFCCCA announced the list of All-American student-athletes today, March 18th.  

 

The team of Kaydian Jones (Journalism-Kingston, Jamaica/St. Andrew HS), Simone Grant (Health Education-Bronx, NY/Pelham Prep Academy), Marlena Wright (Journalism-Bronx, NY/Dewitt Clinton HS), and Jerily Benjamin (Health Education-Queens, NY/Phillip Randolph HS) finished sixth in Division II with a time of 3 minutes 49.40 seconds.  This time set a new school record and earned the program's first No. 1 East Region ranking in this event. 

 

These four athletes join fellow Indoor 4x400 Meter relay team of 2009 - Latoya Allen, Saleena Green, Kaneesha Hollis and Erica Nixon – on the illustrious  list of athletes to earn All-American status in Women's Track & Field, which has now expanded to 16 athletes all-time.
