Junior Rochelle Nelson named ECC Track Athlete of the Week; Creary named to Honor Roll

WASHINGTON, DC - The Firebirds continued their success in the East Coast Conference weekly report with junior Rochelle Nelson (Mass Media- Kingston, Jamaica/Holmwood Technical HS) being named this week's Track Athlete of the Week. Nelson had stellar races inboth the 400M Dash and 4x400m Relay on Saturday at the Patriot Games, hosted by George Mason.


This was Nelson's first ECC weekly award. Her time of 59.43 in the 400M is one of the fastest400 times this year amongst ECC runners.


Making Honor Roll was junior Shauna-Kay Creary (Accounting- Kingston, Jamaica/ St. Andrew HS) who completed an 11.59M Triple Jump, moving her to 27th in the nation. This was Shauna-Kay's first week on the Honor Roll and follows her past two weeks as reigning Field Event Athlete of the Week.
