Creary Earns Second Consecutive ECC Weekly Honor; Firebirds Ranked No. 9 in East Region

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – Junior Shauna-Kay Creary of the University of the District of Columbia women's indoor track and field team, has earned her second consecutive East Coast Conference women's field athlete of the week honor for her performance in the week ending January 20th.

Creary (Accounting – Kingston, Jamaica/St. Andrew HS) had a career day this past Saturday at the Terrapin Invitational in Landover, MD. She leapt to an impressive 11.56M Triple Jump, earning her a 3rd place finish amonst Division I athletes, an NCAA Provisional Mark, an ECC co-leading jump, and a No. 27 national ranking.

In other news, the USTFFCCA announced its Week One Women's Regional Rankings, and the Firebirds are ranked No. 9 in the East Region.

The Firebirds will next compete at the Patriot Games in Fairfax, VA on January 26th.
