Firebirds Indoor Track Presented Well at Two Recent Meets

The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Indoor Track & Field Team performed well in their last two meets of the season. Senior Dicoda Waugh (Business-Kingston, Jamaica) provided the best finish for the Team at the Princeton University Invitational in Princeton, New Jersey on February 19. Waugh finished second in her event with a mark of 10.56; narrowly missed the victory, with the winner jumping 10.61m.
Firebirds Get High Place Finishes at UMES Invitational

Princess Anne, MD: February 12, 2011-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Indoor Track & Field Team placed high in their events today at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Invitational in Princess Anne Maryland. Freshman high jumper Shauna-Kay Creary (Business Management-Kingston, Jamaica) led the team in events with a second place finish in the women high jump with distance of 1.57m.

The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women’s Indoor Track & Field Team will open their 2011 campaign Saturday, January 29, at the George Mason University Patriot Games in Fairfax, Virginia. The Firebirds are under the leadership of new Head Coach Alton McKenzie. The games begin at 10 a.m.
