UDC Inks Aerial Clark for Track & Field

Washington, DC: March 1, 2010-University of the District of Columbia Head Track & Field Coach Jasmine Rogers has announced the signing of Areial Clark to a National Letter of Intent, to become a member of University's Track and Field Team. Clark is a senior student-athlete at North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Clark is a standout shot put and discus thrower for the North Cobb High School Warriors. Her athletic accomplishments include, being named Most Valuable Player in 2008 while attending Wheeler High School, establishing school records for the shot put and discus at Wheeler in 2008, finishing in 3rd place at the Region 5- AAAAA Girls Championships in discus throwing, and placing 2nd in Region 5's -AAAAA Girls Championships in the shot put.

Coach Rogers, in speaking of Clark, said, "I am thrilled to have Areial Clark join the Firebird Family!  Areial is a very talented athlete and she will make an immediate impact on our program."

Clark said of her coming to UDC, "I feel that I am a great match for the University of the District of Columbia. Although it is quite a distance from my family, I am willing to go and grow in college by myself so that I can mature into a more responsible adult."
