Firebirds Soar Past Chestnut Hill in Dominant 7-0 Victory
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia women's tennis team delivered a commanding performance against Chestnut Hill College, securing a 7-0 victory to improve their season record to 8-4 overall.
UDC came out strong in doubles competition, sweeping all three matches to claim the opening point. The Firebirds went on to to win all singles matches played.
Doubles Play
- Polina Zelentsova / Desire Parn defeated Bandel/Meirovich (6-1)
- Claudia Bahamon Lopez / Célia Bastin triumphed over Rasilla Romeo/Reddy Thada (6-1)
- Lina Benjelloun / Nadja Zmukic won by default
Singles Play
- Desire Parn defeated Lilian Bandel (6-0, 6-3)
- Polina Zelentsova overpowered Romi Meirovich (6-0, 6-3)
- Célia Bastin secured a solid win against Claudia Rasilla Romeo (6-1, 6-2)
- Claudia Bahamon Lopez edged out Anisha Reddy Thada in a competitive match (6-1, 7-5)
UDC (8-4, 4-2 ECC) will have a quick turnaround, welcoming Frostburg State to the UDC Tennis Courts tomorrow at noon.
