Head Coach Theodore Mahaffey III Named Coach of the Year!

Washington, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's Women's Tennis Head coach Theodore "Dickie" Mahaffey III, was named the ECC Coach of the Year. Mahaffey led the Firebirds to a 10-1 record (4-1 ECC) to earn the No.2 seed in the 2019 ECC Championship.

Mahaffey Earned this honor for the second time in his career, after also doing so back in 2011 when he led his team to an ECC Championship title.

Since joining the Firebird Family as the Head Coach of Both the men's and women's tennis teams Mahaffey has been on the receiving end of three Coach of the Year awards (2 for women's tennis and 1 for men's tennis).
