Simoné Pärn led the Firebirds to a 5-2 victory over STAC

Washington, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's women's tennis team defeated ECC foe St. Thomas Aquinas College 5-2, Thursday morning at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.

Simoné Pärn led the Firebirds defeating the Spartans two-time Rookie of the week Eliza Mulder 7-6(6), 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Marija Milic defeated Sofia Shut'ko 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Joanna Skrzypczynska defeated Carla Mentrup 6-3, 6-0 at No.3. 

The No. 1 doubles team of Parn and Milic are now 4-0 on the season after defeating the Spartans 7-5. The Firebirds No.3 doubles team of Estefania Castrillon and Sofia Bellucco are also 4-0 on the season winning today's match 6-3. Skrzypczynska and Izabella Bilecova condeded their first match of the season falling to Eliza Mulder and Carla Mentrup 6-4 at No. 2. 

The Firebirds (4-0) will take a break from Conference play to face off against Wilmington in Delaware, on September 29that 2:30pm.
