UDC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams Volunteer at Food & Friends
Washington, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's Men's and Women's Tennis teams volunteered with Food & Friends to help serve residents in the Washington DC area, on Friday August 30th.
Food & Friends was founded in 1988 and their mission is "To improve the lives and health of people with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses that limit their ability to provide nourishment for themselves."
The Student-Athletes spent a few hours preparing and packing nutritious meals designed by professional chefs and community dieticians, which is delivered directly to client's homes, Monday-Saturday.
The Firebirds were voted to finish 2nd out of 6 East Coast Conference teams, in the preseason poll. They will head to NY on Friday September 6th to face off against Daemen College, for their season opener.
