UDC Women’s Tennis Falls at Goldey-Beacom, 8-1

WILMINGTON, DE – The University of the District of Columbia women's tennis team was defeated by the No. 5 ranked team in the East Region, Goldey-Beacom College, 8-1 in non-conference play on Thursday afternoon at DelCastle Tennis Courts.

Junior Peerada Looareesuwan (Computer Science – Bangkok, Thailand/Valdosta State) picked up the lone Firebirds win of the day with an impressive, 6-4, 3-6, 11-9 No. 2 singles victory over the No. 15 ranked singles player in the region, Maria Victoria.

The Firebirds (7-9) forfeited matches at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles, and the Lightning (15-4) swept doubles play with wins at No. 1 and 2 and won four of the five remaining singles matches.

Next up, UDC will visit non-conference foe Holy Family University on Monday, April 6th at 2 p.m.
