Firebirds fall to Queens 20-3

Washington, DC - The University of the District of Columbia Women's Lacrosse Team lost 20-3 to East Coast Conference rival Queens (N.Y), Saturday afternoon at the UDC Sports Complex.

 

The Firebirds (1-10, 0-5 ECC) led by the efforts of sophomore Kianna Franklin with two goals and a assist. Kianna Franklin also set the season high for draw controls at four. Amy Rock also scored a goal.

 

Queens Sarah Koehler scored 5 goals and one assist in the game to led the game in points. Her teammate Mary Pat Gibble totaled three goals and three assists in the game.

 

The Knights were strong defensive holding the Firebirds to two goals in the first half. With the Firebirds facing an uphill battle the Spartans continued their form in front of goal and made it 19-2 before a Franklin assist set Rock up to score her 1st goal of the game.

 

The Firebirds will play Mercy, Wednesday April 18th at Dobbs Ferry, NY.
