Firebirds Roughed Up, 20-3 in Rout at Roberts Wesleyan

ROCHESTER, NY – The Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks scored early and often in a 20-3 rout of the University of the District of Columbia women's lacrosse team in East Coast Conference action at RWC Lacrosse Field Thursday afternoon.

The Redhawks (6-8, 3-4 ECC) out-shot the Firebirds, 40-10, won the ground ball battle, 25-7, and committed only six turnovers to UDC's 17. They shut out the Firebirds, 12-0 in the first half, and cruised to the lopsided victory.

Senior midfielder Amber Walls, freshman midfielder Vanessa Valentine, and junior defender Aaliyah Carter each scored one goal for the Firebirds in the second half. Junior goalkeeper Dani Falco tied a season-high with 12 saves on 32 shots faced in the loss.

UDC (1-10, 0-5 ECC) will next take on ECC foe St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday, April 23^rd.
