Washington, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's women's basketball team fell to New York Tech 74-38 on Saturday afternoon at the UDC Gymnasium. The Firebirds fall to 3-8 overall and 0-3 in conference, while the Bears improve to 6-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Junior forward Mia Boyd led the Firebirds with nine points going 4-10 from the field. Latavia Jackson and Maya Thomas each contributed seven points and freshman forward Kayla Moore put up a season high six points.
Ketsia Athias and Shalie Frierson led the Bears with 14 points apiece. NYT was able to shoot at 57.8% from the field while holding UDC to just 28.9%.
The Firebirds will end out the year with a trip to Massachusetts to face off against Assumption College on Saturday December 21stat 1:30pm.
