WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia Department of Athletics is proud to announce the 4th Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Class: Lorraine Lynch, Charles Smith, Donald Walters, Lawrence Bradford and Britt King.

The Athletics Hall of Fame celebration was held on February 20th, 2015 at Maggiano's Little Italy on Wisconsin Avenue.

The event, which included a reception, dinner and induction ceremony, was attended by more than 120 Firebird Athletics supporters. The Master of Ceremony was James "Butch" McAdams, University of the District of Columbia, Class of 1981. The evening also featured remarks from University Board of Trustees Chair Dr. Elaine Crider,  Interim President, Dr. James E. Lyons and Vice President for University Advancement, Michael Rogers.

Each inductee was represented in a photographic slideshow and was given the opportunity to speak at the podium as well. All who attended the event Friday night were also granted free admission to Saturday's UDC basketball doubleheader vs. Bridgeport as well as a reception on the concourse balcony. Due to snowy weather, Walters was the only inductee able to attend, and he was honored at halftime of the men's basketball game vs. University of Bridgeport.

"Celebrating the 4th Annual Athletics Hall of Fame during Founders week celebrations provided a very special opportunity to honor the tradition of the University and the outstanding alumni who paved the way for today's students through their commitment to excellence," Director of Athletics Patricia Thomas said. "It was also very gratifying that Dr. Frances Plummer was able to be with us and address the crowd since inclement weather prevented her from receiving the Hall of Fame Award for her late husband Harold Plummer a year ago."
