Freshman Goalkeeper Javier Abadia earns ECC Defensive player of the week
Babylon, NY- Freshman Goalkeper Javier Abadia was named the ECC Defensive player of the week for his performance against Bridgeport in the Firebirds opening conference game.
Abadia has started in six out of the eight games the Firebirds have played in so far including this past week's conference game against Bridgeport, where he had a total of five saves to shutout the Purple Knights.
Teammate Danillo Muniz Beserra also made the ECC weekly honor roll for his performances in both games against Seton Hill and Bridgeport. Beserra scored the only goal for the Firebirds in their home game against Seton hill and then went on to score the only goal in their first ECC showing of the season against Bridgeport, leading them to victory.
UDC (6-2, 1-0 ECC) is back in action on Saturday October 5th at 2:00PM where they will host Bloomsburg College.
