Great Defensive First Half, Firebirds fall to No. 11 Knights

Washington, DC- The University of the District of Columbia Men's Soccer Team feared well against No. 11 Gannon during the first half, but eventually fell 2-0.

Both the Firebirds and the Knights feared well defensively in the first half of the game leaving the scoreboard 0-0 going into half time.

The second half started with a wide shot taken by Ryan Dagley. Dagley would go on to get two back to back yellow cards taking him out of the game and leaving the Firebirds to play man down for the rest of the half.

UDC was able to fend off Gannon for another twenty minutes before conceding a shot to Lennox Crews, bringing the score 1-0 in the Knights favor. Vitor Gomes went on to take three shots in an attempt to put the Firebirds on the scoreboard but would eventually fall short. With less than two minutes to go in the last half Crews would send the ball to back of the net to put the Knights up 2-0 and end the game.

UDC (1-5) is back in action at home on September 25th to face off against Seton Hill at 3:00pm.
