Firebirds Fall to Lock Haven following rough second half

Lock Haven, PA- The University of the District of Columbia men's soccer team fought hard after weather delay, but eventually fell to Lock Haven 5-1 in third game of the season.

The Bald Eagles put the first number on the score board, eight minutes into the first half with a goal made from a penalty kick by Brian Flatter. The Firebirds would even out the score with a perfect free kicked curled into the net by Vitor Gomes with two minutes left in the half. Both teams were able to keep the other at bay for the last few minutes leaving the score 1-1 going into half time.

Coming off of a long weather delay going into the second half, Lock Haven took a total of nine shots with four of those shots making it into the back of the net. UDC was able to take four shots but was unsuccessful, eventually falling 5-1 to Lock Haven.

 UDC (1-2) will face off against Mercyhurst in their first home game of the season on Saturday September 14that 1:00pm.
