Wilson, NC: October 25, 2008—The Barton College Bulldogs snapped an eight-game losing streak by defeating the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds 4-3 this afternoon in Wilson, North Carolina. UDC drew first blood when freshman forward Akeil Belfon (Brooklyn, NY) was fouled and junior Kendel Penny (Gasparillo, Trinidad) scored on the resulting penalty kick at 9:06 into the match.

Washington, DC-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds defeated the Chestnut Hill Griffins, 3-0, tonight at Wilson Stadium in Washington, DC. All of the UDC goals came in the second period, with Said Nabih scoring in the 56th minute; Akeil Belfon in the 79th minute and Nersa Djobo in the 88th minute with assists from Yael Medou and Kendel Penny.

The UDC Firebirds will observe Senior Night at their soccer match against the Chestnut Hill College Griffins tonight at the Woodrow Wilson Senior High School Stadium. Four student-athletes will be saluted for their solid contributions to the Firebirds Soccer Team over the years. Seniors David Agbaza, Myron Douglas, Olivier Guswende and Kapalawbe Kaoma will conclude their collegiate playing careers tonight. The UDC community thanks these student-athletes for four years of exciting play.

Lock Haven, PA: October 16, 2008-- The Lock Haven University Bald Eagles made easy pickings of the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds in soccer action today in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, defeating them 6-0 in a domineering fashion. The Firebirds were unable to get past the solid Bald Eagle defense and left empty handed without a score in the mid-afternoon match.

Washington, DC: October 15, 2008— The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds and the West Chester University Rams played to a double overtime 1-1 tie in a spirited soccer contest this afternoon at the RFK Auxiliary Field in Washington, DC. Each team scored in the second period and neither was able to get the ball over the goal line during the two overtime periods following the end of regulation play.

Nyack, NY: October 11, 2009—It took an overtime goal for Nyack College to overcome the UDC Firebirds in an exciting soccer contest this afternoon in Nyack, New York. Baba Fatoba took a feed from Samuel Oduro and scored the winning goal in the 93rd minute for the Purple Pride. It was the second goal of the match for Fatoba, who earlier scored in the 74th minute when Seth Galloway sent him a head pass, and beat the goalie to the corner.

UDC struck first in the 25th minute when freshman forward Akail Belfon ( Brooklyn, NY) took a cross from freshman defender Kevin Santos (Sterling, VA) and kicked the ball in the back of the net.

Although UDC took more shots (22 to 11) than Shepherd, their shots were too wide, or high, or stopped by Shepherd goal keeper Wagner DaCosta.

Freshman forward Karl Moukagna performed a hat trick while scoring four of the UDC goals to lead the team to the win.

The UDC Firebirds Soccer Team suffered their second defeat of the new season on Saturday, in the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown Tournament, as they fell, 2-1, to Pitt-Johnstown in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Freshman Akeil Belfon scored the lone UDC goal 13:21 into the match with an assist from senior Gueswende Kyemtore.
