Firebirds Defeated Dominican College 11-7 for their second victory of the season.

Hillburn, N.Y- The University of the District of Columbia men's lacrosse team had an early lead, scoring the first three goals of the game against Dominican College, Wednesday afternoon in N.Y.

The Firebirds had a great start with Freshman Jeffrey Vo scoring the first goal, assisted by Senior Tyler Mace, of the first quarter. Senior Alan Singleton scored the next and final two goals of the quarter, to put the Firebirds in the lead 3-0 over the Chargers.

The Chargers broke their scoring drought when Nick D'Alessandro scored their first goal of the game about half way through the second quarter. The Firebirds responded with two goals split between Senior Edmund Taylor and Junior Garrin Adolphe.

The Firebirds went on to score three back to back goals, two of which were assisted by Singleton. The intensity heated up in the fourth quarter as the Chargers outscored the Firebirds 3-1 within the first four minutes. In the end, the Firebirds came out victorious with an 11-7 win over the Chargers, with sophomore Eric Boco scoring the last goal of the game and his first goal of the season.  

Singleton led the firebirds with three goals and three assists followed by Vo with two goals and Mace with two assists.  Senior Goalie Nikolas Lund-Murray out saved the Chargers 19-11 and the Firebirds also had eight student-athletes contribute to scoring.  

This win puts the Firebirds 2-2 overall and 0-0 in conference play. The Firebirds will host their next home game on Saturday March 16 at 12:00pm against Post University.
