Firebirds Fall to No. 5 Seton Hill 19-9

GREENSBURG, PA – The University of the District of Columbia men's lacrosse team fell in their 1st loss of the season 19-9, against number five in the nation Seton Hill (3-1), Wednesday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field. 

The undefeated Firebirds entered the game with confidence looking to upset the nationally ranked Griffins. With both teams tied at 3 to end the 1st quarter, Seton Hill scored four goals towards the end of the 2nd quarter to lead 11-6 at the half. They went on to control the 3rd quarter not allowing the talented District of Columbia team to score a single goal. The Firebirds fought back in the 4th quarter tying the Griffins 3-3, but could not overcome the 3rd quarter drought. 

The Firebirds were led by senior LaRon Hinton with two goals, and one assist, followed by juniors Tyler Mace and Zach Hart adding two goals each. Teilen Celentano, Alan Singleton and Syrrus Nash each contributed one goal in the Firebirds effort. 

Seton Hill's Jack Moran contributed four goals and three assists and was joined by John Hofseth on three goals and three assists for the win. 

UDC will be in action again Wednesday, March 14th when they host Dominican (N.Y.) at the UDC Sports Complex at 3PM.
