Edmund Taylor Earns East Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week

WEST BABYLON, NY – The University of the District of Columbia's Edmund Taylor was named East Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the week ending Sunday, February 25th. 

Taylor, a sophomore attack from Maple Valley, Washington, registered 13 points on 10 goals and three assists as the Firebirds won both games in the opening week of the season. 

Taylor helped spark high-scoring Firebirds to 37 goals in two games, where they first beat Felician University 21-4 and then in a 16-6 convincing victory over Division I HBCU rival Hampton. 

Against Felician, he recorded five goals and two assists, and then at Hampton, he was in ruthless form again as he took five goals and one assist. His week totals include 22 shots – 15 of which were on target (68.2 SOG percentage), two groundballs and one turnover. 

Taylor and the Firebirds 2-0 will look to continue their impressive start when they face off against regional foe Wilmington University, Tuesday, February 27th.
