UDC Men's Basketball Concludes the 2024-25 Season at Molloy
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY – The University of the District of Columbia men's basketball team put up a tough fight but ultimately fell 108-78 to Molloy University in an East Coast Conference (ECC) showdown on Saturday afternoon at the Bob Houlihan Gymnasium.
The Firebirds struggled to contain Molloy's offensive attack early, falling behind 52-31 at halftime. Despite a solid performance from Tevin Curtis (13 points, 5 rebounds) and Elijah Crawford (11 points, 6 rebounds), the Lions took control.
UDC attempted to rally in the second half, scoring 47 points, but Molloy's offensive efficiency (56.2% FG, 48.3% from three) proved too much to overcome. David Pope (15 points, 4 rebounds) and Khyrie Staten (9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists) provided a spark off the bench, but Molloy outpaced the Firebirds down the stretch.
