Wilberforce, Ohio: February 27, 2010-Junior guard Tim Ellison (Alexandria, VA) scored 23 second half points in a valiant effort to lead the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds in a comeback as they fell to Central State University Marauders, 85-62, this afternoon at Lewis Gymnasium. Trailing by 14 at the break, Ellison elected to shoulder the burden of trying to bring his team back by adding to his 6 point first half scores for his total of 29. It would not happen, as Central went on a second half scoring tear winning by a margin of 23 points.

Hampton, VA: February 24, 2010-The Apprentice School's Eric Joe had the hot hand tonight, shooting 12-22 field goals, 4-8 three-pointers and 2-3 free throws, to score a game- high 30 points in leading the Builders past the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Men's Basketball Team, 73-54, tonight at Hampton University's Holland Hall.

Washington, DC: February 20, 2010-In an excitingly close contest, the visiting Central State University Marauders Men's Basketball Team escaped with a, 60-53, win over the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds this afternoon at the UDC Sports Complex. Central, who came into town sporting an 18-5 record and ranked 6th in the NCAA Midwest Region, were shocked by the up tempo, exciting, in your face play of the 1-17 Firebirds.

Takoma Park, MD: January 26, 2010-Freshman guard Kenneth James (Arlington, VA) led all scoring tonight as the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Men's Basketball Team fell, 63-73, to the Washington Adventist University Shock tonight at the Pitt. James scored 24 points and grabbed 5 boards as teammate junior guard Tim Ellison (Alexandria, VA), the second highest scorer, put up 22 points and collected 7 rebounds. Chris Leach, a sophomore forward from Washington, DC was also in double figures, scoring 16 points and pulling down 6 boards.

Washington, DC:January 22, 2010-- The Apprentice School "Builders" defeated the University of the District of Columbia "Firebirds" Men's Basketball Team, 70-60, this afternoon at the UDC Sports Complex. Isaih Harrison scored a game-high 33 points in leading the Builders to the win. Eric Joe added 15 to the Builders point total.

Kutztown, PA: December 22, 2009-- In a very close contest, the Kutztown University Golden Bears slipped past the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Men's Basketball Team, 81-77, tonight at the Keystone Arena in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. Kutztown, currently ranked 7th in the nation among NCAA Division II schools, was able to snatch the victory away from UDC at the free-throw line, getting more opportunities as a result of a 9 chance margin at the line (15 of 25) compared to UDC's (11 of 16).
