21 Student-Athletes earned Division II Athletics Director Association Academic Achievement Awards.

Washington, DC- The Division II Athletics Director Association announced the 2018-19 recipients of the ADA Academic Achievement Awards on August 26, 2019.

The Academic Achievement awards is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes in division II and has been around for the past 12 years. This past year there were 11,660 student-athletes that were nominated, which set the record for the most participation from institutions.

In order for student-athletes to receive this award the Athletics Director must be a current dues paying member, the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, have attended a minimum of two years of college work and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.

This year the University of the District of Columbia had 21 student-athletes earn this Academic achievement. "Academic excellence is one of the cornerstones of our strategic objectives the Equity Imperative of the University. The scholar-athletes embody our goals," said Athletic Director Patricia Thomas.
