Men’s and Women’s Basketball Continue Fight for ECC Championship Bids

Currently ranked 7th in the ECC, Firebird women's basketball fell at NYIT on Feb. 9th 75-49.    UDC was led by senior Natasha Roy who scored 14 points for the Firebirds.   Sophomore Maya Thomas added 10 points, 7 rebounds.  

At home on Feb. 14th, the Firebirds were set back 67-60 vs. St. Thomas Aquinas.   Sophomore Maya Thomas led the Firebirds with 21 points.

 

Firebird men's basketball, also currently ranked 7th in the ECC, beat NYIT on Feb. 9th, 83-78.  UDC was led by freshman Juanye Colon.   On Feb. 14th, the Firebirds lost to St. Thomas Aquinas 87-64. Junior Zachary Olukanni led the Firebirds with 13 points,

9 rebound.  Senior guard Danny Shand added 13 points.

Colon chipped in 11 points, 3 rebounds.

 

The Firebirds look to push into the ECC championships as they host Roberts Wesleyan on Friday, Feb. 22nd ( women tip off at 5:00 p.m., followed by the men), and Daemen on Sunday, Feb. 24th (women tip off at 1:00 p.m., followed by the men).
