Juanye Colon – December Male Athlete of the Month

Colon had an encouraging month of December to helping the Firebirds to three wins and a 3-3 mark for the month.

In UDC’s game vs. Bridgeport, an 88-72 lost at Bridgeport, Colon registered 20 points, four rebounds and three assists. The game prior to Bridgeport, he scored 15 points along with two rebounds and two steals.

During the month of December, Colon improved in every statistical category. He averaged 10.8 points a game on 43 percent shooting. In a overtime lost to Dominican Colon had 17 points, he shot  6-for-13 from the field and 5-for-10 from three point range. His hot shooting earned him the Rookie of the Week award for the East Coast Conference on January 2nd.
